Lege TV is a multimedia project created by Texas Impact in 2009 to lower the access barriers between citizens and the Texas Legislature online.
Lege TV captures legislative events from the live stream, edits them for time and clarity, and posts them online for others to view and share the videos. Since its inception, LegeTV has published over 1,000 videos of legislative testimony and debate, from the Texas Legislature and Congress.
Lege TV also provides strong social media content for advocates, interested citizens and legislators alike. In conjunction with Texas Impact, Lege TV monitors committee hearings and floor debates and provides live coverage of the events on Twitter. Lege TV has built up a bipartisan following of over 400 followers, including legislative staff, Texas legislators, the Texas Democratic and GOP Caucuses, and news organizations such as the Austin Chronicle, KEYE Austin, KBTX Bryan and the Quorum Report.
Lege TV is a project of Texas Impact. Texas Impact is a statewide religious grassroots network whose members include individuals, congregations, and governing bodies of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. Texas Impact was established in 1973 to be a voice of religious social concern to the Texas Legislature. Texas Impact was founded on the central religious conviction that religious communities are called to minister to the whole person - to respond with compassion to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all people.
